Our 25% off promo is here and it has me thinking about the magic of rail travel. This year I discovered Ljubljana in Slovenia and I still can’t get Kupus Salata out of my mind. That salty and tangy cabbage salad totally won me over. I’m craving it as I write this and am missing those moments by the train window, watching picture perfect landscapes glide past.

I was in Ljubljana too, but sadly didn’t get to try Kupus Salata. But we found a café that served Strukli in every possible variation, which left a similar impression on me.
Anyway a city and a country to return to.

I was quite very good restaurants in Kraków last september. Didn’t expect much of the cuisine, but I was quite amazed by the culinary scene and the Polish wines. Absolutely love pierogies with a modern take. Definitely decided that I want to go back there . .

@Dagi I tried Strukli too! Do you have the name of the cafe? I’d love to taste Strukli in every possible variation 🤤 I had apple and cheese with raison.

@BrendanDB that also sounds delicious. I am definitely going to go to Kraków again at some point. I haven’t been in 21 years!

@BrendanDB & @Dagi if you have time I’d love for you to add these recommendations to our community map, here

That’s the Strukli place, they had both sweet and salty. Peanut chocolate was really good 😋

Great to see the promo sale live - thank you Interrail/Eurail!

Kosice was a great surprise for me this year, but my new fave was Torun in Poland! I already have a Poland OCP and will definitely pass through there again for more nights.

With a new Global Pass I’m looking at getting back to Central Europe and including northern Germany this time.

I love the food recs - please do add to the map, it’s evolving into a great go-to for planning :)

I also travelled to Bratislava but just as a stop over on my way to the (South-) East of Slovenia for Gorica/Gorizia cultural capital, which was super interesting. Very good food in this Slovenian–Italian border region. Then some hiking along the Soča valley direction the mountains in the north of Slovenia. Magical! There is a beautiful train route along the Soča river. Slow and huge delays due to construction but every tiny station has a very vibrant station bar/pub/café/buffet.

Nice to know about the train route along the Soča river - thanks :)
