How many Day Passes i am using if i travel at night?

HELLO! I have a question regarding the use of the passes at night.

Ex:

I want to go from Amsterdam to Prague.

train1: Amsterdam (06:00pm) - Germany (5:00am)

train 2: Germany (6:00am) - Prague (11:00am)

Am i using 2 days passes even if I got the connexion in advance? Or is it just 1 day pass because I have got a connexion?

Two days in this example. The time of departure for each train counts.

But for Amsterdam to Prague, you can easily do this in one travel day.

Eg: European Sleeper, depart Amsterdam 2234 Monday/ Wednesday / Friday. Arrive in Prague 1124.
