There are no reservations on Belgian domestic trains. Seating comes in a first come first served basis. Don't worry, it works well and outside rush hour you've always got a seat.

If you've got an Interrail/Eurail pass, log the train on Rail Planner before boarding (your "diary"). It gives you a QR code for staff. Then hop on and sit wherever you want.

Of course, in Brussels, you'll find alternating "Brugge” and "Bruges”.

And although the rail planner app will accept entry of both versions, it will only show "Bruges” in the results due to incorrect data attributes supplied by Belgian railways.
