Assigned seat reservations in local sites

I just discovered one small problem regarding booking sest reservations using raileurope. I’m in a group of 5 and one of them will be buying a eurail pass since he resides in europe while the rest 4 will be on interail. And when I checked to book seat reservations, I cant book seat reservations for interail and eurail in one booking. Is there any way I can solve this so we can be seated together?. Moreover not just raileuorpe but other local sites like oebb and deutschbahn doesn’t show the seating map. So is one of my friends just stuck on his own in the train for the rest of the trip?

Hello @Anis Asea

For what country do you want to reserve seats? The same tickets are often valid for Eurail or Interrail passes and you can book 5 seats together.

It doesn't matter whether you choose Eurail or Interrail on Rail Europe. The reservations will say the same. They'll just say "Pass” or something similar.

Seat maps are available va DB and ÖBB, but not for all trains. E.g. for Berlin-Prague, use cd.cz.

Here’s the option I was talking about in raileurope. Also, based of what you are saying I can just select seat reverations as interail and it will be fine for my friend who has a eurail ticket?. Regarding DB and OBB I checked the dates I’m traveling and even went to the seat proceess they only allowed me to choose the type of seat (ex aisle or window) but not selecting the seat number etc. Lastly, then can I just book interail seat reservations on all sites? and my friend will be safe using eurail

@Anis Asea

If reservations are not mandatory, no check will be made in the train.

If reservations are mandatory, they are the same for Eurail or Interrail. I give you two examples:

France (Valid Eurail Interrrail Pass to show):

Italy (no indication, only Global Pass):

It is currently not possible to reserve seats on a map in every case. It will probably be possible to do it with the new European ticketing system, but you have to wait a few years.

Should be no problem indeed.

Please mention route, date and departure time of the train(s) you're trying to book via DB or ÖBB. Maybe we have some ideas.

The reservations are exactly the same, there is no difference. Prive is the same and often you can't even see on the reservation for which pass it was bought.
