Hello everyone,

from the beginning of november till christmas I want to travel thorough eastern europe and am thinking about doing a stop in istanbul and athens as well.

For some of the stops that I want to take I can’t find a connection, not on google and not in the railway app. Do you have advice on how to find a connection? I saw that you can take busses as well?

Thanks for your help!

Hannah :)

International connections are very bad in Eastern Europe/Balkans. Most countries don't have any link, either due to year long "engineering works" or simply political tensions.

The most useful train for you would be the daily Istanbul - Sofia night train. Then take a bus to Thessaloniki/Athens.

Buses are not included in Interrail/Eurail. No discount either.

I must also add that the weather is pretty horrible at that time of year... no snow, only cold, constant fog and grey skies.

Hello, if you would like to travel to England around November 8th, we could travel together for a few days.
