Hi Dennis,The official rule is that to use a Youth Pass you must be 27 or younger on its first day of validity. If you plan to start travelling after your birdthday, I am afraid you will need to exchange your Pass with an Adult one. Here you find the policy and the instructions: https://www.interrail.eu/en/interrail-passes/ordering-info/refund-exchange-policy. If you need help in the process, get in touch with customer service!
Hi Nicole,Glad to know you’re about to visit Italy! To answer all your questions in order:[1] I wouldn’t know honestly, but I’m currently in Europe and the timetable works fine with me, so you might be right about the different time zones! If you struggle with that, you can also look up departure times on the Trenitalia website: www.trenitalia.com.[2] You can book directly at the station, so no need to do it in advance if you’re not sure of the time you can catch your train. Keep in mind that the Leonardo Express from/to Fiumicino has only 1st class seats and so it requires a 1st class Eurail Pass, though you also have normal regional trains that you can take with a 2nd class Pass and without any reservation.[3] I’m afraid those apps are not linked. Also, as far as I know, the Trenitalia app does not offer (yet) seat reservations for Pass holders but only normal tickets.[4] Printing reservations in Italy is not necessary! You can just go with your screen. ;)[5] The easiest explanation
Hi Lotte,You do not need to add your paper Pass to the app in order to make reservations through it. Just click on “More” on the bottom right corner and then on “Seat reservations." After you specifiy that you have a paper Pass and choose the country for which you want to make reservations, you will be shown some options, including our own platform and other external websites. To use our platform, you need to create an account on our website: https://www.interrail.eu/en/login. In the Seat reservations section of your account you can create a trip and import yourself as traveller using the Pass Cover Number (which is on the top right corner of the travel diary on your Pass cover) and selecting the right issuer. You can then start making reservations through the app or directly at this link: https://www.interrail.eu/en/book-reservations. Keep in mind that you will need the Pass cover number also to book on the other platforms you find through the app.
Hi Roelien, the QR code should work with the Dutch gates regardless of whether it’s a screenshot or not. If it does not, then ask the NS staff around, they will be happy to help. Are you able to produce the QR code though? Most of the time giving the app the time to load the pass details should work, just wait a couple of minutes before accessing the My Pass section of the app.
Hi Bill,If your original order includes Plus for all 6 Passes, then there is no need to go with an exchange, you can just refund it entirely (Plus fees excluded), and place a new one separately!
Hi Ted, Unfortunately, all international routes to/from Greece are suspended until further notice, as you can read here: https://www.trainose.gr/en/passenger-activity/international-services/international-railway-services/. If you’d like to travel north or east, you can cross the border by bus (or other means of transportation) and then start using the Pass again. Otherwise, you may also consider taking a discounted/included ferry to Italy: https://www.eurail.com/en/deals/eurail-pass-benefits/benefits-greece. I hope that helps!
