Ljubljana to Venice requires a change at Trieste. Mestre to S. Lucia is always a flat rate of €1.40. Is that train included in the interrail pass? 2. Is that a return rate?
Trains from Brussels arrive at Paris Nord. To get to Montparnasse from Paris Nord, there are 2 options: Take metro 4 (direction Mairie de Montrouge / Bagneux Lucie Aubrac) and get off at Montparnasse Bienvenüe. Take RER B (direction Robinson / Saint-Rémy lès-Chevreuse), change at Denfert-Rochereau to metro 6 (direction Charles de Gaulle) and get off at Montparnasse Bienvenüe. Option 2 has a change but is usually faster because from metro 4 you need to walk quite a distance (700 m) and metro 6 is much closer to the Montparnasse railway station. Brilliant, thank you! Do each of these journeys still count as 1 travel day (including the Brussels to Paris journey)
Bus or Train :) By train you have to walk a bit :) The buses bring you directly to the Lake Fares from 5€ eachway :) Thank you! How would I book this or do I not need to?
The pass is only activated in step 3, where you choose the first travel day. You can also cancel the first travel day. The trip can always be edited: add or delete journeys. But the best is not to use the rail planner app for planning, since it doesn't get enough updates to be reliable. Use national planners or apps and for international planning, use de DB planner or DB Navigator app. Do you mean not to use the rail planner app when looking for trains to board when you’re actually ready to move to a different country? Or just for planning a trip.
depends on you :) The standard refund is 85% of the pass value By paying the 19€you upgrade to 100% refund. The 10€ extra for the paperpass are the shippment cost and are not related to the refund options. Please note with a paper pass you have to select the starting date of validity already at the purchasing process (as this will be printed on the paper ticket) with the mobile pass you can select within the 11months flexible when you wanna start. Great thank you! So if I were to buy a mobile pass without the extra £19 cancellation fee I’d still be able to activate it within 11 months of buying?
For Kraków - Prague, reservation opens 60 days in advance. Okay thank you. Does this night train from Krakow-Prague count as 1 travel day on the pass?
Krakow - Prague: on the Czech railways website using these steps. Seat = 75 CZK, sleeper from 350 CZK. Zürich - Lesce Bled: on the ÖBB website, using these steps. Seat = 14 EUR, couchette from 34 EUR, sleeper from 54 EUR. I’ve tried to book Krakow-Prague but can’t get onto the 3rd step (from the link you provided) there’s nowhere that says ‘I want a reservation’.
The question is for when you wanna reserve? As most trains open just 90 or 60days in advance and ontop not all Railcompanies haven´t published their Summertimetable for journey´s after the 12 June. Paris - Zürich no Nighttrain just a direct Highspeed service (To save money i recommend to catch a Highspeed service just till the border Muhlhouse and from there with a regional train to Basel and further with any train to Zürich) Direct train reservation will be up to 56€ the money saving route with 2 changes will be 10€ in advance or 20€ last minute Zürich - Bled can be reserved via oebb.at Here a manual how to do :) Zagreb - Budapest no Nighttrain just a daytime Eurocity reservations can be done via oebb.at (Check the daytime manual from the link above) Vienna -Krakow can be reserved via oebb.at similar to Zürich - Bled :) Krakow - Prague can be reserved via cd.CZ (Czech Rail or you use the service of POLRAIL a polish ticket agency) Great thank you! I was planning on booking as soon
On this route, the nighttrain you can use is krakow-vienna and maybe between Prague and Krakow. Zurich-Paris (High speed train TGV Lyria) Paris-Brussels (In 1,5h with Thalys) Brussels-Berlin (very long, but no nighttrain. ICE to Cologne and change then to ICE to Berlin), maybe it would be a service from Brussel to Berlin and Prague, but I don’t think it would be part of Interrail.) Berlin-Prague Eurocity Service about 4 hours Prague-Karkow (maybe Nighttrain of Leoexpress (but only seats) and a classic nighttrain of CD) Karkow- Vienna Nighttrain Vienna- Bratislava local train service very short Bratislava - Budapest Eurocity service Budapest - Zagreb a bit long Eurocity service Zagreb - Bled Eurocity service You could change a bit your route and try to get the Nighttrain from Zurich to Bled or Nighttrain from Budapest/Vienna to Berlin or Vienna to Paris/Brussel. Thank you, that’s really helpful. For the Vienna- Bratislava, Bratislava- Budapest, Budapest- Zagreb, Zagreb- Bled is
Many countries simply do not have ANY nighttrain. Also you did not tell us if that 7-8 hrs was in 1 train or with more changes. If you google ´nighttrain in Europe´ or similar or even via wiki, you may find more hints as to what trips do still have those. Mostly it is in East-Europe. Inside Germany=DE there are some but these have seats only, normal daytime trains=ICE. Also note that even with a pass you will most likely have to make extra REServations for all of them, even for just seats and this may cost quite a lot-sometimes even more as a night in a cheaper hoStel. Esp. the new set of NightJet trains, based on Austria. Often even a full ticket booked online on a BUS can be cheaper as the supplmt you have to pay for those trains! It’s with multiple change overs.
Which route do you want to go? In the last years there is a revival of Nighttrains. But some areas still hasn't got back nighttrains. My route is Zurich-Paris-Brussels- Berlin-Prague-Karkow- Vienna- Bratislava- Budapest- Zagreb- Bled
