If you have a one month pass and start the validity of the pass on the 4th of September you need to finish your last journey by 23.59 on the 3rd of October.

Although it is only a small point surely it is valid on any train journey you start before 2359 CET on the 3rd October, not finish.

On the last day of validity there is no allowance to continue use past midnight.
