Global Flex Pass vs Point to Point

Hello All ..

Wife and I are visiting son in Germany from US (12 days total), have 4 free days (Sun-Wed) and plan to travel via train to the following:

K-town > Paris (overnight) > London (overnight) > Belgium (overnight) > Luxembourg > K-town

I’ve been leaning towards the Global Flex Pass instead of Point to Point tickets … based on the travel path above, what’s your thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Just note that for K-town (I assume Kaiserslautern or Karlsruhe) - Paris
Paris - London

London - Brussels

you have to pay for reservations ontop of he Railpass if you have fixed traveldates and times you will be cheaper with point to point tickets. I would reduce the destinations because currently you would just step in o the City and leave it few hours later = not really visiting.

thanks seewulf … yes, the total destinations are a bit ambitious and your comments are spot-on …

London actually was a last minute add just testing the feasibility…

was originally just Kasier* > Paris > Brussels > Luxem > Kaiser* as a loop … stopping by each, browse around, see a couple key attractions, have a nice meal, spend the night, hop on another train the next day …

with the longest leg being Brussels > Luxem at 3:45hrs … seemed doable

biggest issue is dealing with the trains .. global flex pass 4 day being roughly $350 per … add on nominal fees for seat reservations … seemed better than a point to point to paris at $300 or paris to brussels at $250 or brussels to luxem at $300

With the railpass … I can get on/off anytime I want right?

Yes, but you'll still need reservations where they're mandatory, e.g. to Paris or Paris-London or Paris-Brussels, the latter 2 with limited availability.

by on/off I mean … get on any train any time (with a reservation if required), then book another reservation for the next leg (if required) … getting on with the pass, just pay the difference of the reservation (if available)?

I’m flexible in that I’m not on any specific schedule (other than the 4 days) … we just want to cruise around for 4 days … we have 4 days to burn, I’m not interested in sitting around my son’s place while he’s at work.  We have a 3-day road trip scheduled around Switzerland the following 3 days …
