We are planing a vacation that starts on 20th August. If we buy 22 days travel pass can we do seat reservation although our travel will start on 20th August ?Or do we have to buy 15 days in 2 months travel pass?

What kind of pass you need depends on which days you travel. Make a plan (with timetabels), count the days and then check what pass fits best.
You can make most seat reservations without having a pass yet, check this thread:
