24th i travel from vienna to salzburg, but then get a night train to Venice at 01:11. Ii take it thats two different days travel ?

Of course 01h11 is the next day so that is another day.
If you want to save a day you should find out if your can board that train before midnight.
You could also cheat and find a theoretical itinerary to get on that train before midnight, while actually doing something else. But that would mean you are travelling without a valid ticket and you should be fined for that.
