How to determine the start date of a global pass

How to determine the start date of a global pass?

Best answer by AnnaB

How do you mean? You need to activate the pass and start the validity no later than 11 months after purchase.

If you buy a mobile pass, you do the activation in the Railplanner-app.

If you buy a paper pass and travel with Interrail, you need to decide the start of the validity when you purchase the pass.

If you buy a paper pass and travel with Eurail, you can either decide the start of the validity when you purchase the pass or go to a train station in Europe to start the validity of the pass.

You let it start at the first day you want to take a train.

But don't activate the pass in advance as unexpected things can happen. A mobile pass can only be deactivated until midnight the day before the start of the validity.
