Night trains from Strasbourg, France to Krakow, Poland - First Trip to Europe

Hello! Has anyone gotten a night train from Strasbourg to Krakow with their Eurail Pass? Is there a direct train? Is it safe? Any advice is welcome, I’ve never done this before and feeling overwhelmed by this planning and uncertainty :)  I am also wondering if anyone has ever needed paper tickets delivered to their home or hotel?

There is no direct night train Strasbourg Krakow.

You can either take the night train to Vienna (runs only 3 times a week) and continue with day time trains (will use two travel days) or you leave on a TGV Strasbourg to Munich and take a night train to Krakow from there (runs daily). This option will only use one travel day.

Travelling on a night train is safe and a good way to save time in my opinion. I would always take a couchette berth rather than a seat except for when you’re really on a tight budget. It’s so much better to be able to lie flat and have a lockable compartment (shared with only 3-5 other passengers).

If you mean paper reservations (the pass is your ticket): that's not necessary and I'd advise strongly against having them delivered to a hotel. We've seen multiple stories where this does not work. Instead, don't book reservations via Eurail but elsewhere (that's also cheaper). This page provides a good overview of the best options:

If that doesn't work for you, please mention route, date and departure time of the train you're trying to book.
