What is my total of travel days

Hi!

I am travelling from Copenhagen to Rome and back - my journey starts 31/1 and ends 1/3 (so my last travel day will be on the 28/2 - where a night train is part of the trip. Does this period (31/1-28/2) count as 1 month or is it one too many travel days?

Thanks!

If your validity period of 1 month starts on 31/1, then the last day of that period is 28/2. That means you cannot travel anymore after midnight.

Thank you:)

But what if I board a night train before midnight?

The ticket is no longer valid past 23.59 on the 28/2 so an overnight train is not possible even if you board before the deadline.

Ok, thanks. I can see in the interrail planner, that if I set my first day of travel as 2/2 and the 1/3 as the last travel day, it suggests the 4 travel days within a month-pass, so I think that will be the solution.

That will allow you to board a night train on 28 Feb, to arrive on 1 March. But you won’t be able to start your trip on 31 January unless you buy a separate ticket.
