Night train reservation Italy

Hi all

I have an interrail global pass and a couchette reservation for the Intercity Notte from Milano Centrale to Bari for this coming Saturday. The plan is to come from Switzerland during the day and then catch the night train in the evening in Milan.

Now I am thinking to go even a bit further to Piacenza using day trains, have dinner with a friend there and then catch the night train from there (Piacenza is its first stop after Milano). Do you think this is possible? Or will my reservation expire if I’m not on the train in Milan?

Does anyone have any experience here?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Kind regards

Sebastian

Normally te reservation expires 15 minutes after that the train leaves the station from where the reservation is made.

Hi Anna, many thanks for your answer! Not the one I was hoping for, but we’ll now just meet and have dinner in Milano to avoid any problems :)
