Additional supplement

I'm looking to go by train to Italy from Germany and it says “supplement required”. Is this included in the price when I book a seat reservation at OBB or DB? Or do I need to pay the supplement even when i have a seat reservation from OBB or DB?

Yes you can buy the supplement through ÖBB : add Interrail/Eurail as a discount and select one-way tickets.

It'll cost you 10€ + 3€ optional seat reservation (very recommended) in 2nd class or 15€ + free seat reservation in 1st class.

The seat reservation in itself is not enough.

Thank you for your reaction!

Is this the way to do it or do I need to buy a supplement above this ticket? I selected one-way tickets and day-tickets

Also: Is this the same via deutsche bahn?

That is a compulsory seat reservation for an Italian Freccearosa train.

The supplements mentioned are just on a few Italy to Austria and Switzerland Eurocity and Raijet routes.

Italian reservations and EC supplements cannot be made on DB website, only OBB.

@Al_G My post above was on the site of OBB.

I can’t find anything about supplements on the OBB site. I only know via the Interrail site that i need one for this specific train.
