Salzburg to Venice timetable

I was hoping to travel from Salzburg to Venice on 18th August this year via the Brenner pass. This involves taking the RKX662 and RJ85, changing in Innsbruck. Thing is, this train isn’t appearing on the timetable (via DB trains or OSS) but it’s there on the 19th August. How can I confirm that it’s just not a daily service and I’m unlucky or if it will become available later? I don’t see how it will become available later if it’s displaying for the day afterwards…

So you're half in luck, half out of luck.

The Brenner route (so Innsbruck-Verona) is closed for a week in mid-August. Don't ask why they plan these closures during the busiest of busy times but well. That's the unlucky bit.

Lucky bit is: the Munich-Venice trains will be rerouted via the Tauern and Tarvisio lines meaning they have to go through Salzburg (logically stopping there). Direct trains Salzburg - Venice!

Timetables will be published in due time. Could be in April. Definitely book seat reservations in advance as I expect these trains to be very full...

2 other options with a change in Villach.

Thank you!

I’ve reserved seats for us via Villach but the change time is only 5 mins so I’d much rather this is a backup trip!

Are you convinced the re-routed trains will stop in Salzburg or is that an assumption?

Thanks again

That's not an assumption at all, please follow the link.

In addition, there's no need to book these seat reservations this early. A few weeks in advance is enough and by then the replacement timetable should be there.
