No trains Spain- Portugal

Hi,

 

I would like to visit Spain and Portugal and see on the website that there is a suggested tour of this (Iberian Adventure).
 However, I can't find any train rides between these cities of this suggested trip (in the train planner).  As indicated, you can travel between Madrid and Vigo, but I can't find any train journeys in the planner….
In addition, I can't find any train times between Madrid and Santiago de Compostela, even though this is indicated on your railway map.  Furthermore, there are no journeys between Madrid and Lisbon, which is also indicated in the railway map.

 How can I travel within Spain and Portugal?

The rail planner app is very incomplete for Spain because Spanish railways (RENFE) don't share their complete timetable with the rest of the world. In addition, the app should not be used to plan, since it doesn't get enough updates to be reliable (only every few weeks for the timetables it does contain). It's better to use national timetables or apps and for international planning the DB website or DB Navigator app (although those will also be incomplete for Spain and other railway companies that don't share their timetables).

For Spain, check the RENFE website.

For Portugal, check the CP website.

    De treintjes tussen deze 2 landen-die al eeuwenlang in feite rug aan rug leven-er is gewoon heel weinig overdegrens vervoer, zijn beperkt tot:

    2x daags Celta Porto-Vigo (verre noorden, Vigo heeft inmiddels wel een veel snellere AVE naar MADrid)

    1x daags pendelreintje Entroncamento(PT)-Elvas=grens-Badajoz(ES), met aan beide zijden een aansluiting op IC/MD treinen, Lisboa en Madrid, deze zijn verplicht REServeren.

    Die kan je eigenlijk enkel vinden in de lokale planners en voor die van RENFE/ES moet je ook beter spaans kennen-die in /en/ slaat meestal op tilt.

    Met een pass REServeren kan sowieso voor ES enkel aan een beraamd loket.

    In het verre zuiden is een een aantal keren/dag, varieert per seizoen een direkte bus Faro-Sevilla, moet betaald worden.

    Nooit zomaar die enkel positieve PR-praat geloven, maar omdat ik juist vaak de schaduwzijden belicht ben ik natuurlijk het verdachte haasje
