Train reservations on Eurostar from Amsterdam to London St Pancras

Thanks so much! So I think I will have time to wait to see if timetables are updated for April and to check Eurostar site for Amsterdam to London service in 2025. Just want to make sure I don’t miss out on reservations. Cheers. Jon

I can’t reproduce an 08:10 departure on Rail Europe. Which station names do you have in the to and from fields?

It’s possible it’s trying to route you via the Amsterdam Metro or something, where a railpass isn’t valid.

So you’ll have to take the route via Brussels. Direct Intercity from Amsterdam-Zuid to Brussels-Zuid, then Eurostar to London.

What the Eurail site or Rail planner app show is not relevant. Please don't use them for planning. Rail Europe isn't a great train planner either, it's just useful for some of the pass reservations. A good all-round international planner is bahn.de.

The Eurocity Direct trains don't have reservations, so you just need to book Brussels to London. On the Rail Europe website, always pay in euros, since prices in other currencies are up to 5% higher.

The 0803 is the one you want. It doesn’t appear in the Eurail timetable yet because they’re slow to update.

Your pass is valid, and you don’t need to add the trip to your pass until just before you travel anyway, so there’s no hurry.

There’s no reservation needed, and I’m almost certain that there’s no supplement to pay on the Eurocity - as long as you're making an international journey. There’s some erroneous information in the timetable that makes it look like you need to pay a supplement.

Since this is a new Eurocity Direct service to replace the old Intercity Direct, we could do with some clarification from Eurail that no supplement is required.

No supplement is needed for any journey (international or domestic) with a Eurail or Interrail pass, just like for the current Intercity Direct services. I suspect this page will be updated to include Eurocity Direct.

Thanks for the updated information. It seems that on Sundays going from Amsterdam to Brussels Midi, you have to take an RE to Schipol airport, then change for the  Intercity to Brussels. Weekdays there is direct IC train. https://shorturl.at/WbMp1

The ECD to Brussels actually leaves from Amsterdam Zuid (south) station as ralderton said. You can reach that station by subway.

(But also possible to leave from Centraal and change in Schiphol of course!).
