On DB when you reserve a ticket, how do they know that you have a eurail pass?

I want to reserve Zurich to Munich but it’s very expensive

Click on the "Seat only” button:

Should be 4 EUR in 2nd and 5.30 in 1st class.

You CAN but do not have to REServe for these trains. The pass is your ticket and by now at least half of normal non-pass travellers will have their  ticket stored on fone or laptop.
