Madrid - Bordeaux

Hello,

I want to travel from Madrid to Bordeaux. I found good train from Madrid to Irún (Spanish border) and from Hendaye (french border) to Bordeaux.

Irun and Hendaye train stations are like 3 km apart. Is there no train between them? Or busses?

The only trains I found on rome2rio are badly timed.

Any experience about this?

When you search Madrid-Bordeaux it suggests you via Barcelona/ Narbonne. That's a huge detour.

Thank you!

The local narrow guage Euskotren network runs to Hendaye with a station right beside the main SNCF. Trains run every 30 minutes.

It is not valid with Interrail but prices are cheap.
