I am looking to travel round Europe for two months starting in late April. I want to reserve seats on certain high-speed trains but unsure how to do this without fully activating my pass. Is there a way I can reserve seats months in advance without activating my two months of travel?

You can enter the date you want to activate your pass on. It automatically asks if it is the date of your first reservation. You can even change this date the day before you are wanting to start.
So in short, the day you are reserving train seats is not the day your pass is activated!
