Oslo to Bergen - Night train 1st Interrail pass

Of course, your pass is valid on the night train.

Seat reservations are completely different from the app and your pass.

So you book your reservation on the website suggested (entur.no) and then add the journey to your pass. Two separate procedures. Your app will never know whether you have a reservation or not.

This night train does not have 1st class seats. Your 1st class pass does work on this train. You can choose any comfort level and pay the pass price for it.

Please also note that you can't book reservations in the app. It can only forward to some of the websites where you can book. The best website to book trains in Norway is entur.no. A seat in 2nd class is NOK 80 (€6.90). I'd book at least a reclining seat though for NOK 680 (€58.50).

There are very few sleepers in Europe that have a class difference. It usually works different: seats, couchettes (or reclining seats in Norway) and sleeping cars. You can booking every accommodation, whichever the class of your pass.

Also check normal prices on www.entur.no, could be that it’s a bit cheaper  than the cost of a pass day+reservation.

This is a very comfortable sleeping train. Very recommended to get the sleeping car on www.entur.no (add interrail in your passenger details). Shower included in a hotel across the station upon arrival in Bergen, but only when travelling in the sleeper cars.

If you book around 17th of May, book asap (national holiday in Norway, can get very busy on the days before and after).

This is a very scenic route (my personal favourite), so also very worthwhile to go for a day train and admire the views.

May in Norway means very short nights, probably won’t get very dark at all. The seats and reclining are quite difficult to darken, but you get a plaid, sleeping mask and earplugs. The light is usually amazing around sunrise, which will be in the middle of the mountains around the Hardangervidda/Hallingskarvet. I never get that much sleep on this nighttrain though, I keep looking outside 😁

We are looking to travel on 8th May ( night train)

On Entur - it is only offering booking options on 9th May and not 8th May. Where as on Vy.no  - It offers me the option to book on the 8th - but no option for interrail pass /

I have tried calling both provider - no answer and have also email them both - again thus far no luck/

Any help /suggestion would be appreciated in terms of how I can book the journey for 8th May.

Than you . I think there must be an issue with search engine.

I was putting in 8th May and 2 inter rail passenger.

Under this I kept getting 9th May, but not for 8th May.

I changed the search engine as normal passenger ( i,e without the rail pass) I am getting the 8th May comes up, I then change under edit the passenger , to rail pass, the train stays the same and discount is applied.

So I think i am all set now. Thank you very much for you help
