Paris Gare de Lyon Transfer Time

29 minutes are enough if the train arrives on time.

That what my concern is we are Seniors and carrying luggage so a delay would probably have us missing the connection. What would be the maximum time from Hall 2 to Hall 1 or vice versa?

It is difficult to say, perhaps 10-20 minutes. It depends of the position of your car in the train, if a lot of people travel or not. You must also scan your ticket at the entrance of the platform to take the TGV to Zürich. To be sure, I would plan the longer connecting time.

You could also look if other alternatives as Paris are available. You have for example a direct early TGV from Nice to Mulhouse. You had to pay only one seat reservation. From Mulhouse to Basel and Zürich you have frequent trains without mandatory reservations.

You could also travel via Geneva, but the trains between Lyon and Geneva are bad and overcrowded.

I've just seen your other post. It's a little bit stupid to go via Paris honestly, massive detour looking at a map.

The fastest and scenic route is via Milan, it's also way cheaper. Timetables will be published around March-April, you're too early now. Check the current ones.

For example this is ideal for only 3€:

- TER Nice-Ville - Ventimiglia 07:51 - 08:43

- IC Ventimiglia - Milano Centrale 09:10 - 13:03 3€

- RE80 Milano Centrale - Lugano 13:43 - 15:00

- IC2 Lugano - Zürich HB 15:30 - 17:27

Alternatively consider the direct morning TGV to Mulhouse as Danhiel suggested. ;)

Note that the Nice-Ventimiglia services aren't shown for any date as the responsible company didn't transmit the data to the European database... use the SNCF website.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I am arriving the before from a cruise in Nice and debarking the next day which is normally early morning. I prefer a train journey with a few changes as possible. I found another possible connection with only one change and for me preferable would be the one leaving 6:57 Nice to Dijon and in Dijon a transfer time of 35 minutes. I am not familiar with Dijon but it should be easier to transfer than Paris Gare de Lyon.

Possible in March/April when the new train schedules are out there are other possibilities.
