Hi!

I'm currently planning to travel from Budapest to Prague on the 9th of July. The app says that a seat reservation is required, but when I open the website to make a seat reservation, I says that a reservation is not required. Which information is valid?

Just do when there at Keleti station. No worry, no fret-it will be OK

For the nighttrain you need a reservation. For the daytime train no reservation required.
