Is there a train from Ljubljana that goes straight into Venice Santa Lucia station and is it included in the interrailing pass? Or, if I were to stay in Venice Mestre how much roughly is a return train into Venice Santa Lucia. Are there any 1-2 day travel passes that will get me into main Venice and back for cheap? Thanks :)

  1. Ljubljana to Venice requires a change at Trieste.
  2. Mestre to S. Lucia is always a flat rate of €1.40.

OR use the local transit system-with bus, light metro-bus and vaporetti which has special touristy tickets for 24 hrs etc. These boats are quite expensive for tourists though

If you use a regionale or regionale veloce train it is included in your Interrail Pass without needing a reservation.

The regionale veloce (RV) from Trieste to Venezia S. Lucia goes directly to the main station. Please take the RV that doesn't run via Udine, because the trip is than longer.
