Eurailpass use in time of Covid

We have used Eurail passes many times over the years but this May will be the first time back to Europe since Covid began. We normally pick a city and use it as a travel base for a while. This time we are using Bologna for a month and will be using the pass to visit towns and cities within a few minutes to a couple of hrs away. The question is - Has anyone had any problem boarding trains? I know that proof of vaccination is required for most public travel but does that mean we will need to show our CDC (USA) card when travelling or do we need to reserve all train trips in advance?

Please check reopen.europa.eu. Requirements vary per country, change frequently and with little notice. What was valid last week may not be valid now, let alone next week or next month.

Currently, many COVID rules are being relaxed and I surely hope that by May most will have disappeared.

But esp. ITaly is quite severe in its rules-it was after all the very first country hit very much in the outbreak. Also if you only travel IN ITaly and not overly far (day trips or not?) then there are also other perhaps cheaper ways to cover train travel.

A general touristy forum like tripadvisor has dozens/100s of USAers and canucks all asking the very same about these. Most of your points will have been adressed there
