3 weeks honeymoon in June 2025

Question

Just bought x 2 global passes for the honeymoon next year, the 10 days within 2 months passes.

Will be traveling from Doncaster in the UK to London for the Eurostar to Paris for 2 nights as doing Versailles.

Then we are off to Italy to spend the remaining 18 nights or so down and then up the boot. Would like to possibly get across to Sardinia and Sicily (depending on cost of ferry etc)

Any hints and tips and recommendations to go in Italy would be recommended. We are in our late 40s not clubbing folk, do like a nice lively bar though and love to walk and see 'stuff' also love the countryside as much as a city.

I'm guessing I won't be able to book rail now for June next year, from your experience everyone, when do routes become available please?

It’s a bit early to reserve trains indeed. Three months in advance I’lld say, sometimes a bit later (France, Italy, Spain can be a bit later).

Eurostar London-continent should be reservable already. Best place to get it is on www.raileurope.com (also for French and Italian train reservations). Make sure to add your Interrail pass in the discount.

Sicily can be done by train (which then goes on the ferry), thus already included in your fare ;)

Half June there’s a minor timetable change, so looking for trains later than that date probably won’t prompt a response.

Planning wise, a lot to go to between the UK and Sicily😅. Half of Europe awaits. I’lld say, take a map, look a bit around where you’lld like to go, and use www.bahn.com to plan your itinerary a bit (almost every train timetable in Europe is included).

→ Don’t find any timetables? Choose a random date next week, offer will be the same in 6 months, or only have minor changes. Then you’ll get an indication about travel times, and amount of connections per day.

Eurostar can currently be booked until 17 May. When they will open reservations from 18 May is anyone's guess.
