Aachen to Bordeaux

Hi everyone, I booked a ticket for 1 April from Aachen to Bordeaux which would travel through Belgium, I received an email stating that this journey is cancelled due to strike action in Belgium, the only other option I can find is from Aachen to Frankfurt, and then from Frankfurt to Bordeaux, it does make the journey longer, but it is still manageable, not having travelled much by train in Europe before I would just like to find out any comments if this is a workable solution, departures further north of Frankfurt still use the route through Belgium, welcome any advice, thanks Andre - South Africa

Do you have a Eurail pass? Which trains did you book exactly?

There may be other trains through Belgium rather than going through Frankfurt and having to explain to DB and esp. to SNCF staff what's happening.

Hi and sorry for the late response, I managed to make another plan - re-booked out of Frankfurt without too much hassle, regards, Andre.
