Completely new to planning rail journeys. Looking for suggestions for xmas and new year and what accomodation options are good value? Travelling on a budget but not hostel.

      I am looking to spend xmas eve/ day amsterdam and then looking for options. Hotels are around £100 per night, so ideally looking for cheaper options but not hostels.
