ACP Rail Journey from Euston London to Liverpool Lime Street

Hello. I am trying to plan travel from Euston London to Liverpool Lime Street. The EURail trip planner was unable to reserve my seats for me, so I am trying to do it myself.

 

The ACP website says that “this product is not available in your region” when I try to reserve the trip from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street. 

Should I try to find another way there, another way to get the seat reservation, or should I simply try to board when I actually am at the train? My trip is planned for May, and I am worried that the train will be full, and that I will be unable to board.

 

Any thoughts? Thank you for your help.

You shouldn't use ACP. Reservations for British trains are not compulsory, are free and can be made through various operators. See how on: https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm#great-britain

Interrailing seems difficult at first sight, but it's pretty amazing.

    UK trains don’t get “full” in the way you’re thinking.  They can get very busy and have standing room only, but you won’t be denied boarding.

    As schelte has said, you can obtain a reservation for free.  You used to be able to get them via GWR (one of the UK carriers) but they removed that option recently.  I reserved seats for a similar route into Euston recently via TPE (another UK carrier).  You should also be able to make the reservation directly with Avanti West Coast (the company that operates between London and Liverpool)

    I hope you are doing well. I have checked on our side and was able to book the seat reservation on the ACP rail website without any issue.  Please try to book your reservation again by taking these steps:

     

    • Open the specific link for seat reservation on the ACP rail website https://www.acprail.com/seat-reservations/ 
    • Fill out your stations and travel time and click 'Search'
    • Select the preferred train and class
    • Click on ‘Add to cart’
    • Continue to payment by clicking on ‘Proceed to checkout’

    Regarding whether a seat reservation is mandatory on this route, our app and self-service information indicate that a reservation is required. However, I found some information on our website suggesting that it is not required. I will confirm this internally and keep you updated.

    ​@Khyber1988 Reservations on day trains in GB are always optional, but some operators supply incorrect data (e.g. LNER, TransPennine Express, Avanti). This has been discussed here multiple times and AFAIK your reservations specialist is also aware. The problem is that the operators and RDG claim their data is correct, when in fact it clearly isn’t.

    As to ACP Rail: we've requested multiple times for them to be removed from the Rail Planner app, since there are free alternatives. Also see:
