Hi, we are starting our trip in Europe from Athens and can't find how to get to North Macedonia (Skopje) I've seen via Thessaloniki but not sure how to do the journey. Also what's the best app to use to look for trains etc totally new to interailing. Thanks.
Athens to Skopje
There are no trains into North Macedonia and practically no international trains in the Balkans. This is due to engineering works and/or political reasons.
The easiest solution is to take a bus (not included/no discount).
Bahn.com/DB Navigator app are good planners but they do not cover everything. For example Greek trains do not appear on any planners since the company doesn't share its timetable... (also the case in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania).
