I am trying to plan a train trip from Barcelona Spain to Paris France. I am looking to travel on Thursday August 13, 2026. I noticed they have a direct train (6hr 46 min) for June and July but not for August. Instead, you are required to take several connecting trains with trips much longer than 6hrs in total. Is there some kind of planned outage for that line in August 2026?

It is too early, timetables are not published. Try later on sncf-connect.com. You can also give your e-mail address on this website and receive a mail when the sales open. But buy the Eurail/Interrail reservations on raileurope.com.
+8You can assume the timetable will be the same as now, just varying by a few minutes if anything.
Note that the direct SNCF service has quite a high reservation fee. You can reduce this somewhat by taking the RENFE train to Lyon, and an SNCF train from there to Paris.
