Hey guys,

I want to explore Western Europe (my starting point is Munich since I'm German). I'd like to visit Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, perhaps Brussels, Milan, and maybe a bit more of Spain.

What would be the best route, and how many days would you recommend spending in each city?

Also, what would be the best month to do this for great weather? And what do you usually take as luggage for a trip like this?

Thanks!

@David777

It is impossible to answer your question. We don’t know your interests. An example. In Paris, what do you want to see? The Eiffel Tower? Disneyland? The Louvre? The Musée d’Orsay? The Catacombes? The Palace of Versailles? The Stade de France? Pigalle?

Not sure what your definition of great weather is, as it depends on what you want to do (atleast the temperature).

I usually travel at the end of September beginning of october as i dont enjoy it if its hot.

Starting from Munich Amsteedam would make a decent first stop (also that journey requires no expensive reservation)

In general the France and Spain part will require reservations.

Amsterdam → Brüssels is not a long journey

Brüssel → Paris The Eurostar is quick but requires an expensive reservation (if you book far in advance its almost the price of a ticket) There are some slightly slower routes that require less expensive reservations (or you could also visit Luxembourg inbetween for example)

For France and Spain i can not give many tips as i have mostly skipped them because of the expensive reservations.

I think you’re going to need to decide this yourself! Nobody else knows your budget, interests, priorities, timescales etc.

There are some trip ideas here, which you can use as a guide. Maybe look that and come back with a draft plan, and people can give useful feedback.

 if in doubt, go slower, and spend more time in one place
