Hi! I’m on a bike touring trip and I’m trying to get myself home from Verona (Italy) towards Sweden by train with my interrail card, since I don’t have enough time to bike the whole way back.
All of the reserved bike spots on the direct trains to Munich are fully booked for the foreseeable future so I ended up buying tickets for the S-Bahn 3 train from Brennerero-Innsbruck and the regional express and local train from Innsbruck-Munich. I payed for a ”bicycle ticket” but it also says ”if there is enough space, you may take your bike on board on the train”.

Does this mean that I might not get to bring my bike on the train even if I booked a bicycle ticket in advance? Does anyone have experience with these tickets on ÖBB?

Also, if anyone has experience with bringing bikes on the regional trains in Italy or Germany I would appreciate your input. Going with DB from Munich to northern Germany doesn’t seem possible, the bike spots are all fully booked.

Bike spaces on the S-Bahn can't be reserved and tickets are not linked to any service in particular. So booking a ticket doesn't guarantee anything. However, the S-Bahn starts in Brenner, so I don't expect it to be full there.

If you would like advice to get through Germany, then please mention your travel date and time constraints.
