Hi there, we are flying into London at 6am on the 25th of March and I want to catch a train to Edinburgh. I want to book them now - but I don’t know when I’ll be at kings cross to leave. Would you buy the 9:03 or 9:30am train? Plus how do I book the tickets (seat reservations) I can’t book on eurail- it won’t let me. What do I do?

First question: do you have a pass?

If so, then you don't need a ticket, because you already have one: your pass. A reservation is advised though at busy times. They're free of charge. You can book on the LNER website, as explained on this page:

https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

That page is the best overview about how to book pass reservations.

Ok thanks, yes I have a plus pass. Or something plus. So if I don’t need a seat reservation (because it’s not really busy). Can I just rock up at kings cross when I’m ready and board the train? I have a 7 days travel pass. So do I just tick that travel day and away I go?
thanks so much for getting back to me.

That's correct, seat reservations are optional in the UK. They're showing up as mandatory for some trains because the operators send incorrect data. LNER also have some unreserved seating, see:

https://www.lner.co.uk/travel-information/make-a-reservation/

You can still book reservations if you want of course.
