booking trains

i am trying to book trains for my journey and when i look online, for example florence to rome is 1hr30minutes, when i go to book through the rail planner app they are all 4hr+, i want to be able to get the shortest time trasins but im unsure how?

Maybe you are looking to far in advance the train schedule for that route only goes as far as 13.06.2026 (at least for the highspeed trains)

Also you will need a mandatory reservation for the highspeed train (13€) The only place(i know) that sells those online without an additional fee is ÖBB (you have to select interrail under the discounts to get the reservation)

Thank you so much! So if i look again in the future the high speed trains will be available and I can book them then?

I would expect them to become available. I dont know the dates when trenitalia releases their new timetables.

But yes all trains of trenitalia are included with Interrail. But the Fresciarossa(high speed) trains require a mandatory reservation as i mentioned.
