Hi. It is my first time travelling with an EUR Rail pass. I would like to have a backup copy of the QR codes in paper, in case the mobile phone gets stolen. Would those copies be valid?

No, such copies are not valid. You must have a second mobile phone to transfer the pass if the first one is no more available.

So if one phone gets stolen, we should have another one. I loaded each person pass in each phone with acount for every person.

I think that it will not be possible to activate the same pass on both phones. Be sure to activate the correct pass on the correct person’s phone. A transfer to another phone should only be made in case of problems, this is not a standard procedure.

It is impossible, you could print a PDF file of all your travel days, inactivate the pass, obtain a refund, and still travel afterwards. Use the app ensures that:

-- the pass is valid

-- you have an active travel day (for the flexi passes)

-- you have entered the daily journeys in the trip

-- a control of the passports in the trains is usually not necessary (which is however still possible), because the QR codes cannot be duplicated
