Can I take a night train on the last day of a global pass?

Hi,

I’m planning to take a night train on the last day of my Interrail Global 10 days in 2 months pass. The train I want to take is the Intercites de Nuit from Paris Austerlitz to Latour de Carol. The Interrail website says “ you cannot use your Eurail Pass to take a night train on your last travel day as the validity period will expire at 23:59”. My question is: am I really not allowed to use day 10 of the pass to take a NT? Even if my pass is still in it’s valid period of 2 months?

Thanks.

If the next day is still within the overall validity of the 2 months then yes.

If your 10th day is also the last day of the 2 month period then no, validity ends at 23.59 on the last day.

@Eurail Community Moderator Please correct the phrase "you cannot use your Eurail Pass to take a night train on your last travel day as the validity period will expire at 23:59. " found on this page and the interrail one (also mentioning a Eurail pass).

As far as I'm aware, by replacing "your last travel day" with "the last day of validity of your pass" you ensure it is correct for both continuous and flexi passes.

7. Flexi Pass: overnight journeys
Travel by overnight train with a flexi Pass will only require the use of one travel day: the
day of departure, if the journey is made by a direct overnight train (no change of trains
after midnight, based on local time). This rule is only valid if the dates of departure and
arrival both fall within the overall period of the Pass validity.
If the Pass holder makes an
overnight journey past midnight and boards a second train after midnight, it is
necessary to use two travel days.
For example: If a paper Pass Holder boards a direct night train at 18:00 hours on
September 21st, which is set to arrive at its destination at 05:00 in the morning, he should
enter the date of departure, the 21st of September, in the Travel Calendar. If he is still on
the train past midnight, he does not need to activate a second day (the date of arrival),
unless he boards a second train. For mobile Pass holders the rule will be applied
automatically when saving the train connection to the trip.
When using an overnight ferry covered by the Pass, the same rule applies
