Hello,

I have a 15 days within 2 month interrail and i am planning on splitting it up across 2 trips, a 5 day trip and a 10 day trip. However, for the 5 day trip i am planning on flying out so i wont be using my outbound journey in my country of residence. Although, for my 10 day trip i am planning on travelling in my country of residence from Liverpool down to London, therefore using my outbound journey then, is this possible? As i am unsure whether the outbound journey means only at the start of your 15 days or if your able to use it after the interrail has already started.

Thank you all in advance.

Hey Daniel, when I used my interrail pass in june 2025 I had to confirm i want to activate inbound and outbound trips on their respective days

that means if you use a travel day outside of your starting country, it will be used as regular travel day, but if youre travelling in your starting country then it will ask to use inbound/outbound journey (you should have 2 during the whole pass, one for start and one for finish)

so if you dont use a travel day while flying to your country of residence you should be fine :)

hope it helps, have a good day

You can freely choose which two of the travel days you use as in- or outbound.
