Can't reserve trains on new pass as old pass hasn't yet expired

I have used up a pass activated on 20 August which expires on 19 September.  I find I can’t make reservations on my new pass because any reservations I make go to the old pass!  Does anyone know how to delete the old pass or to connect reservations to the new pass or have any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Problem solved.   the answer is to download the new pass onto a different device. It then says “this pass is on another device , do you want to move it across?”, click yes and its now on a device unencumbered by the previous pass and will work normally.

On the reservations page, you can click on "Select travellers”, where you can also select another trip, which then changes the pass for which you book reservations.

However, booking reservations elsewhere is better in multiple ways, most importantly that it's cheaper. Use this page as a guide:

That's strange. AFAIK the reservation process does not depend on the device your pass is on.

I do have to say my experience with actually booking via Interrail is quite limited, since I don't use them anymore since raileurope.com offers reservations without added fees and with the possibility to indicate seat preferences.
