cancelling a seat reservation

Mistakenly bought a seat reservation on Eurostar from London to Brussels. I then bought the correct seat on another Eurostar train (to Amsterdam).

How do I cancel the first booking and hopefully get a refund even if only partial, also to allow someone else to get the seat

Thank you

I'm not getting anywhere. Eurostar say I need to cancel with interrail/eurrail but I cannot find a method on the app. Any ideas anyone?

Reservations cannot be booked in the Rail Planner app and neither can they be cancelled there.

You need to log in on interrail.eu, then go to the Reservations overview, where you should see your reservation, including an option to cancel it.

Where did you buy the reservation?

Through the interrail app.

You can do it for a refund fee of £10/ €15 (second class), if you booked it on or after 6 May and you are more than 7 days before departure.

They say you need to do it through the Eurostar website, not through Interrail. I must admit I've never tried this, do please do feed back if it works.

Alternatively, if there's a chance you might use it, you can rebook it to the same route on another date for free (again, only if > 7 days).

Through the interrail app.

That's not possible. The app can't book anything and can only forward to some of the websites where you can book. For Eurostar, it will suggest the Interrail and B-Europe websites (while ignoring Rail Europe, which is the best option).
