Can the pass be used on any of the ferries to cherbourg as the planner won’t allow me to route any way apart from eurostar. I was looking at portsmouth to cherbourg

When a ferry or a train is not in the planner, that does not mean anything for the pass validity.
That being said, there are no Channel ferries included in the pass. Some of them have a pass discount though, which means you don't need a travel day to use them, you just need a valid pass.
Portsmouth to Cherbourg is operated by Brittany Ferries, and they don't have a pass discount.
