as a new here i wanted to know if when i have to book a seet in a TGV i can select my seet in the train ? Some friends of mine coming with me but not with the Interrail Pass so can i seet with them or not ?

Either book by phone (that also saves you from any booking fees, choose #85 for English) or after booking online, use the TGV Inoui Pro app to change your seat. In 1st class, you can then choose your seat from a seat map; in 2nd class, you can give the carriage and seat number you want to book close to. The TGV Inoui Pro app only works in French. You need to start an exchange ("Echanger”), and then select the same train.
+11Hi, TGV services can on most services only select a seat in 1st class.
On top you can’t select a seat via Interrail reservation service. You can do it via RailEurope and others.
I think the best way to assure that you sit together is if you book your tickets & reservations in one go by calling SNCF.
