Eurail pass app/website activation?

Hi,

This will be my first time using the Eurail pass on the app. I need to book and reserve our seats from Zurich to Paris, mid December, however, will get a new phone the week before we depart and am therefore very hesitant to activate or link the pass for our family as I read that you can only transfer the pass once to another phone (if I am correct?).

Can I book and reserve on the website?.

I would greatly appreciate advice on what I need to do first, is there perhaps a step by step guide?

Many thanks for the advice and assistance.

Hello @LB001

You can book seats without the Rail Planner app. I suggest to reserve seats on website raileurope.com to avoid the booking fees of Eurail. You need only a valid pass number (e.g. A1B2C3), but the pass must not be activated when you book.

If you find that the surcharge of the TGV Zurich - Paris is too expensive, you can also travel to Strasbourg with a regional train in France (TER) and book the TGV from Strasbourg to Paris.
