I am thinking of purchasing a global pass as I will be travelling from Amsterdam to Germany, Austria and then Switzerland. Does the Eurail pass cover internal trips from Zurich to Zermatt? Do I get discounts for the gondola rides and trains in Zermatt?

Trains to Zermatt are included. Anything else in Zermatt doesn’t seem to be included, and no discounts either. See this map:
