I saved two trip with two different names for my up and coming visit to England.

Without my consciously doing so, the app has linked the SECOND of these trip to my pass, even though the dates is obvious after the first trip. Will this be the one I get when I activate my pass? In which case I really have to start again otherwisew I’ll be out of synchronisation. (How) Can I do this? HEEELP

When you load your pass in the app, you have to select a trip to link it to, or create a new trip.

If you want another trip, then remove the pass from your phone and then load the pass number again and select another trip.

You can also change the journeys in the trip linked to your pass.

Remember you can only link 1 trip to your pass. Once the validity period has started, you can't change that trip anymore. It will eventually contain all journeys you do with that pass.

You’re a hero and many thanks for your time and trouble.

I’m still not quite clear.

My Pass is loaded onto  the App but the Pass is not yet activated . My problem is the trip that’s loaded to it is not the first I will be taking tomorrow.

I see I have the option to delete the trip currently on the pass - would that help? Then tomorrow I can load the trip I want and the second trip later.

Or are you suggesting the more extreme version and getting rid of the app altogether and relaoding it? I’m a little worried it might then tell me this pass has already been downloaded

You can’t load a second trip later, you can only have one trip connected to a pass for the entire duration of that pass. You must choose at activation which trip to connect and use this for all travel on that pass.

The content of that trip can be edited as much as you want up until the end of each day.

So the trip name is for the whole life of the pass - not the individual legs?

And you only start puting in journeys and connections once the pass is activated?

How do you get the correct QR code for the journeys you’re doing on that particular day?

Many apologies for being spo slow on the uptake

Correct. You can still change the trip name though, but not choose another trip once the validity period has started.

And you only start puting in journeys and connections once the pass is activated?

I usually do, often the evening before, or during breakfast of the day. I plan my journeys with more reliable planners.

How do you get the correct QR code for the journeys you’re doing on that particular day?

When you add the first journey of the day to your pass, the app will activate a travel day and will then create a QR code for that day. The "Show ticket” button will then also appear. Also see:
https://www.interrail.eu/en/interrail-passes/interrail-mobile-pass/getting-started

You can play around, if you want, by activating the pass with a start date well in the future. When you're done playing around, simply cancel the activation.

I’m finally good to go - I’d just like to thank everyone who has been so kind and patient in their willingness to help.

Just to give a crumb back to the community: my big mistake was to think each leg of your holiday (Trip) had a different name. This was because the Eurorail video talked about creating a new trip and on the phone shown in this section there were clearly two trips. This can be confusing for people setting up for the first time.

This sent me down a myriad of rabbit holes and dead ends but all good now.

This has stumped a lot of people before, including me.

From the user point of view a trip is a related set of journeys, but from the application point of view it’s the entire set of journeys associated with a specific pass.

If I have a 1 month pass I might plan a “trip” across France, Germany and Austria in 10 days - to me this is my “Austria trip”.  In the remaining 20 days I might have to return home for a week and then fly to Copenhagen and get trains down through Germany, Switzerland and Italy for another 10 days.  To me, this is an entirely separate “Italy trip”.

From my point of view I have 2 trips on 1 pass.

From the application point of view I have 1 trip on 1 pass.

Thanks for your comments zagmund.

I think if in the video or in any of their guides on how to set things up simply adding the line This is the name of all journeys taken for the duration of the validity of your pass would save a lot of time and confusion. Especially as 90% of the people taking this information are Eurorailing it for the first time (having done it once, you know how it works)  so the the instruction Create a NEW trip and give it a name is confusing.

Anyway - boarding in half an hour for the start of my Trip., so better go.
