Help! I am looking at planning a trip for next summer, both myself and my partner will be 27 and our 2 children age 8 and 2.
Im trying to get an idea of price but cant seem to add 2 youths (the category we fall into) and 2 children when looking at ticket prices.
Can we not travel with children as we are not 28 or over? Or would we have to buy 2 adult tickets even though were not 28. I hope this make sense

It was a recent change to allow free Child passes with a Youth pass. It used to be the case that they were only available with an Adult pass.

I seem to remember the website hasn’t quite caught with this yet, so you can’t currently do it online. You’d need to contact customer services.

I’ve just checked, and you can get all the passes - including the free child pass - from the agent allaboard.eu. (Buying there also has the benefit that passes are fully refundable, in case you change plans). Make sure to buy them all in one transaction.

Yes, your kids will travel free with their pass. They need to pay full price for any compulsory resersrvations though.

For the summer, there's no rush to buy passes. There's probably going to be a sale in Feb/March. Subscribe to the Interrail newsletter to be informed when a sale starts. Allaboard usually also sells the discounted passes.
