I have bought 2 global passes for me and my partner - but do we both need an interrail account in order to book tickets

Use one account for both if you wish to sit together. You add the pass numbers/travellers' names before booking.

I will also mention that it's usually cheaper/easier to book seat reservations through the railway company directly or Rail Europe. Sometimes you get seat selection as well. Have a look at https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

Thank you - that’s really helpful. I’m finding the app and website a bit confusing!

can I also ask….I’ve just booked 2 seat reservations on the glacier express via the GE website. That’s been confirmed - but do I need to show any other kind of ticket or will the global pass be enough?

The Global Pass is your ticket.

On Rail Planner you must log every train before boarding -> you get a QR code to show to staff.
