Are hostels a good option for traveling with my family (my husband and three kids)?
I’ve been searching on Airbnb and Booking, and I just came across the hostel option. I’m not sure if hostels are suitable for families—what do you think?

Depends on the hostel. The youth hostels usually offer more family friendly options. (But you will not find most of them on booking.com) 

Many hostels in big cities are often party focused, so not a good option for a family. But its usually easy to recognize the party focused hostels.

It really depends, some of them are great for families (e.g. Swiss Youth Hostels, in general most of the Hosteling International Hostels). Others are not really the thing where you’d want to go with your kids: avoid city hostels with bad ratings (below ~8 on booking, below ~4 on google maps) as there are usually some very weird people hanging around the whole day…
